As a completely independent non-profit organization, every dollar invested in the community comes direct from donors in the form of the annual campaign.
While donations are accepted throughout the year, active fundraising is conducted primarily in the campaign period of September to December. The campaign typically concludes in mid-February, with final results announced at the end of February.
The campaign is the work of an average of 50 board, community volunteers and workplace campaign managers.
Workplace giving provides the major share of the annual campaign, comprising around 60% of the total giving. This includes both payroll deductions and matching employer funds.
Most employees appreciate having an opportunity to invest in the community. Workplace campaigns offer an easy and effective way to accomplish much within the community. If you are interested in more information on establishing a workplace campaign, please contact us.
Residential givers, some who are retired from the working world and still want to support our work, are the second-largest group of givers to the annual campaign.
Businesses and organizations interested in conducting a United Way campaign can find more information in our Campaign Toolkit. Please reach out to United Way of Harvey and Marion Counties so we can assist you in a successful campaign.
